Pamper Time with Samudra Skin & Sea Detox Mask

Detox mask is something that I love to use. As a female traveler, it’s important to take care of my skin on the road and after my journey. When I get too much exposure of the dirt and the sun or when I return from my trip, I always try to pamper my skin by putting on a detox mask. And recently, I just got my hands on a brand that I have been eyeing for many months: Samudra Skin & Sea. I finally tried their detox mask and fell in love. So, I supposed, it’s time to dedicate a post to them.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I purchased the products mentioned and my opinions are my own.

How did I find out about Samudra Skin & Sea?

I was strolling through my Instagram when I stumbled upon the Samudra Skin & Sea account on Instagram. Unfortunately, at the time, they didn’t launch their online store yet so I couldn’t get my hands on their product right away. And when they finally launched in last August, I immediately purchased their detox mask because that was the product I had been eyeing on for so long. In a few days, the package came in the mail.

So, who are they again?

Samudra Skin & Sea is a skincare brand and based in San Fransisco, California. What I love about this brand is the fact that they are also working to raise social awareness of the ocean. They promote ocean preservation campaigns with their partners and apply their love for the ocean in product making. The products contain wild-harvested seaweed which contains super beneficial antioxidants, vitamins and minerals for the skin. Their products include a detox mask, facial cream, body butter, and soap bars for your hair and body. Did I mention that they are 100% organic, natural, vegan and cruelty-free? I mean that’s pretty awesome!

And your thoughts on the product?

When I first tried to use the product, I was struggling with the consistency. Since it contains seaweed, I didn’t know how much water to mix and ended up with a face mask that was either too think or too thin. So, I contacted Samudra Skin & Sea for some guidelines. They replied me within a day and explained how to use the product; they also attached a picture in the email that shows the consistency of the product when it is mixed well. I followed their instructions, and it worked perfectly.

If I learned something from the process, it would be ‘a little goes a long way’. Here are the steps that works best for me:

  • Half a tea spoon is enough. I used one tea spoon and that turned out to be too much product to put on my face.
  • I mixed the mask with water (or coconut oil) until I got the perfect consistency.
  • I’ll let it sit a few minutes before putting it on. I usually prep my face while doing this.
  • I leave it on for 15 minutes.
  • Rinse it while in the shower. I find that to be the best way since it can get messy on you sink. I’m also too lazy to use a warm wet towel because I don’t feel like washing a towel every now and then.

Okay, I’m not going to put your hopes up and say that this detox mask made my skin look flawless (that’s the job for make ups, right?). And personally, I don’t think any mask has the ability to make your skin pretty perfect in one shot. However, this mask did clean out my face and my skin felt rejuvenated. I fell in love with this detox mask because it makes my skin so fresh, and that’s exactly what I want after days on the road or just simply after a long and bad day. So, if you’re looking for something that can help you freshen your skin, this it it!

Sustainable is the new way to go
